Practice days vary season to season based off field availability. There is a minimum of 2 practices a week as well as Saturday practice/strength and conditioning on weekends when there is not a tournament.

Frequently asked questions
Where are the tournaments & how far do the teams travel?
Academy 23 Athletics plays in a multitude of tournament associations (NSA, USFA, USSSA, etc.). 10U and 12U teams tend to stay in the Tampa Bay area for tournaments while 14U and HS will begin to branch out and travel slightly more, especially during the summer season.
What are the monthly training fees for Academy 23 Athletics and what do they include?
Training fees are $175/month per player. This includes 2-3 practices a week as well as scheduled scrimmages throughout the season. Tournaments are covered by sponsorships, fundraisers and private donors.
How many girls are on the team and what if I don't make it?
There is a maximum of 12 “game-day” players on each Academy 23 Athletics team. If a child does not make the tournament roster but shows potential in development, they are offered the position as an “Academy Player”. This means they are expected at all practices, conditionings, and scrimmages. They will also be the first choice when an Academy 23 team in their respective age group needs a guest player.
If a team has 11 players and an Academy Player, the Academy Player has the opportunity to train with the team and be pulled up to the tournament roster mid-season.
Cool uniforms. What's included and how much do they cost?
Uniforms are a one-time cost of $165 plus shipping and handling. They are the ChampPro brand and are dye-sublimated with name and number on the back. The uniform package includes: (1) block colored A23 jersey, (1) pinstripe A23 jersey, (1) pair of matching pinstripe pants.
How many coaches are there and what are their backgrounds?
Each Academy 23 Athletics team has 2-3 coaches assigned to them. All coaches are credible and extremely knowledgeable of the game. Most coaches have played in college, professionally, or have coached at a higher level.
